My wife just called me from work. One of her coworkers was checking the weather on Weather Underground, and saw this picture (http://www.wunderground.com/wximage/viewsingleimage.html?mode=singleimage&handle=OceanMists&number=422&gallery=CURRWEATHER). There's an object toward the left side, beneath the rainbow, and none of them can figure out what it is. Since it's yellow, they all assume it's some sort of construction equipment. She (thinking I'm some sort of expert, I guess), said I was sure to know what it is. I don't.

Anybody got any idea what the yellow thing is?

If the picture was from around here, I'd say it's an oyster barge with something sitting in front of it. Other than that, I haven't a clue.

The aft end of it is a landing barge. Usually the front folds down and acts as a ramp for loading and unloading cargo. I can't quite figure out what the wheels on the front end go to but as mentioned it could be something parked in front of it.

I don't know what it is either but if I had one on a trailer I bet that is what it would look like!! LOL Ron G

looks like a rough terrain Grove...
looks like their dismanteling the other side

I think that's it. I saved the picture to my computer, and then zoomed in on the "equipment". What's confusing is that the wheelhouse of the barge is easily mistaken for the cab of a machine. It's apparent that the barge is much larger than the crane. The brighter yellow color of the crane is easy to distinguish from the barge. The crane is sitting with the boom down and retracted, pointing to the left. It still doesn't seem to be any higher than the side of the barge.

Mystery solved. I'll have to ask if we get a reward.
