I saw a tracked chipper eating some big trees where the second wally world is going up and was wondering what the pros/cons are.
I would have gotten some pics but no camera with me and cells take bad pics at 55. The pile of chips was big enough they had 330 on top of the pile pulling away from the chipper.

pro is a dolly is not needed to move the machine from pile to pile, con you have to put it on a low bed to move it from one job to another........... was it a hogzilla?

pic is me loading a tub grinder with a 230clc

It seems to me the main pro of the horizontal cheaper is that is a much cleaner operation. Those tubs tend to throw stuff out the top quite a ways. I've not seen the track kind shown by Hvy 1ton though but that setup looks pretty nice. The horizontal I've seen is actually mounted to a lowboy-type frame and has an operator station with grapple for loading, v12 1200+hp engine all self-contained. Set up was a pain but all and I do mean all the chips went into one pile.
