hey guys first off this site is great ,very helpfull
ok i just bought a 2005 chevy 2500hd duramax ..
i have a reading utility body off of my 2002 dodge cummins i was just wondering does anyone out there make a wiring harness that i can plug into the new chevys taillights plug..in other words i dont really want to go and hack up my brand new truck if i dont have to..

Go to your local auto parts store and in the trailer section you'll find a harness that will plug into your truck's harness. Then you'll have to wire that to your body. I doubt anyone will make an adapter to crossover the Dodge to the Chevy, you'd be on your own for that.

If the truck is brand new, there should be a cable in the glove box that plugs into the box under the footwell - this adapts to your choice of brake controllers, don't know if this will power the lights on the box or not. (There was such a plug and cable for my 2002 Tahoe and my 2004 one ton truck)
Know that there's a plug you can get that plugs into the rear harness of the older trucks, like my old 98, that you could use for the box brake and plate lights - not sure 'bout the newer ones.

i bought just like you said a trailer wiring harness that plugs into my wiring harness andjust wired in my new led lights on the service body
works great

o just for conversation ,i just found out that once i put that body on my new truck it voided the warrenty even the extended i paid 1500.00 for .. that made my day.
