Anybody have a ballpark figure for what I should expect to pay for transporting an ASV skidsteer (about 9,000lbs.) 2,300 miles? Las Vegas to Charlotte, NC.

Your best bet would be to find somone who would put it on a stepdeck or a flatbed as an LTL. My guess would be somewhere aroud $1/mile, maybe a little more as an LTL. Straight flatbed or stepdeck freight with it being the only thing on the deck, I would expect it to be $2.25-$250 or more /mile.
Another option would be to find a hot-shot carrier.
You could also try and post your load here as see if you get any takers: http://www.uship.com/
Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

we used USHIP to get a tractor to VA from CA and it was a GREAT way of getting it done...ended up costing about 2,000.00 but was brought by a VERY dependable company....as a side note if you are looking at a company called "Dependable Auto Shippers" or something like that STAY AWAY they told us they could do it so we gave them a deposit and then they backed out and we have yet to get our money back...looking like a court case is what its going to take....
