Those of you that viewed my "I broke it" thread will know I was lucky enough to be able to utilise a baby Hitachi exc as a crane to help save our old backs :)
Well as a treat for being so helpful I arranged for it to get a ride out into the country and down a certain track to a job that was too tight for my duck.
Tight :dizzy :badidea
In a few places there was access to reach through the trees from below but I decided it wasn't worth the damage to either the trees or my machine so once again the baby Hitachi saved the day :D
The original motorway batter ( probably 1 in 2 ) had been stripped and a reinforced earth wall built ( steeper than 2 in 1 ) so the road could be widened within its original boundries. The problem is nobody thought to tidy the toe once the new build was about 6' high :Banghead
It was a case of dig my way in, filling over some stumps on the way, and then shaping it up as I worked my way out, clearing around the trees as I came.
Just to keep it intresting, amongst the vegitation is a very important comms cable ;)
The idea is to drop topsoil from the top later on with the duck and let a couple of 1RB operators knock it about. OK as long as it doesn't rain on the day :drinkup
