What are these parts from?

We recently had these parts go through our horizontal grinder and are now trying to figure out exactly what they are from. If anyone knows what piece of equipment these parts are from, I'd greatly appreciate. Metal does not take kindly to a grinder. Thanks, take care.

Sorry for the late response...Its an Vermeer HG 6000....Also to you and any others viewing these parts, we are desperate to find out what these parts are from and would be willing to negotiate a reward for confirmation of origin of these parts...what are these parts from? :Banghead

just taking a shot here but the remains look like the center carrier for one side of a boogie wheel trailer.
thats a lot of iron and steel.
sorry for the loss of the inside of the grinder.
just to add a bit.
in our area a lot of woods contractors will use a large farm tractor with a clam loader on the trailer.
the wheels on the trailer are mounted on a boogie system (thats what we call it here anyway) they arent powered but merely ride along with the tractor.
i would say that someone was doing a bit of logging in the area and met a rough spot and tore the wheels off the trailer.
they recovered the wheels and left the scrap metal.
if im right the large casting was the pivot block and then there was an arm that attached to both wheels on that side.there may be more metal in the area be carefull

I would agree that it does like like the trunion bracket and end cap of a tandem axle setup but I think it was from a truck.I have been under a lot of Macks over the years and I can see what you have there as making up the Mack bogies which were different than other trucks because they built their own system.That end cap has a plug in it to add 90 wt grease to the bearings on each end of the trunion shaft,after the grease seal started leaking we used to replace the plug with a grease fitting.Maybe others with current access to an old Mack can verify this for me,it has been a while:)).Ron G

My vote is some type of auger.

Looks like the parts off my old Belltek auger drive. Now where did I leave that? :D

The damage that this part caused to our grinder was significant, so finding out what it is would be very helpful....thanks for all the help so far, we are still trying to figure out what exactly this part is from

i have seen some BAD thing happen to wood grinders. we dont bother trying to find out what the crap is that we hit or where it might have came from. we go to the guy who work out in the yard picking garbage out of the loads, they are the ones who get the back side ripped out when we have a grinder crash.

My worst crash with our cbi grinder cost the company about $15,000, it took two people about a week to fix..

Looks like a mack trunnion to me. That is what happens when the bushing wears out. it wears a hole in the bottom of the trunion until the tube breaks through on a sharp turn. The cover with all the holes in it is the outside dust cover on the trunion.

Sure looks like trailer axle parts like the one on my Wisconsin tilt top.
The dimmond plate looks like it came from a bench top, the giveaway there is the vice still attached.

It is a benchtop, he's only talking about the parts on the bench.

It could be the remains of various types of faarm equipment, a transport disk axle, or a rear rototiller or mower... Was the parts in the middle of the woods, or the edge of a field?
