I was wonder what everyone is paying for Insurance. We just split our lowboys and trucks off to a new company to seperate from our others trucks (Dump trucks and roll off's). A 50 ton lowboy and semi truck (1995), along with a single axle semi tractor (1997)with a 25 ton equipment trailer. We are getting our DOT authority, and got a quote from our agent for $20,000 a year for both trucks and trailers and $400,000 cargo insurance. We had always just hauled our own equipment and have been getting some request for hauling others equipment. This is a quite a bit more that we had figured, just wanted to get some others input.
As for our rates we are quoting $100.00 per hour for the lowboy, and $90.00 for the equipment trailer, these are for local hauls with a 2 hour minimum. Let me know where you are at. Thanks Bill
