That is true but I don't think a three point hitch is used a whole lot on a tractor with over 500 Hp:rolleyes:. What do you all think the price tag would be on something like that? I would say nearing or passing the Half Million mark.:drinkup

As advanced as that tractor seems to be I bet it would have camera's mounted on it in different locations.***

I wondered that myself. I think it has something to do with the suspension on the tractor:beatsme

When i first saw Fendt Trisex, the absolute first thing that crossed my mind was "BIG ROY". You all know about the 8-wheeled Versatile tractor with articulated frame and looked, almost like Fendt. Is the world ready for "Big Roy" this time? :)

That is the same tractor I thought of. It never was a hit and was ahead of it's time.

Yea I have seen allot of pictures of them and on RFDTV the machinery of the past talks allot about them. They were actually a concept that cought on and was very successful until manufactures started building larger tractors.

Thanks Pete I've never seen more then a few pics of Tandem tractors before.

WOW!!! That rear wheel steer is really cool on the fent and the suspension adjustment, but I would take a Deere over that ugley thing any day.
I would think that soil compaction would be an issue with the weight which must be significant being carried by 6 tires all running in the same track.

Look at all the extra moving parts involved in having a steerable axle. Power is lost anytime you go through a universal joint and this has 4 of 6 wheels powered by u-joints. Also, a steering knuckle joint also requires some type of pivoting arrangement (king pins) which reduces the weight carrying capacity. In other words, the steering type axles must be built MUCH heavier to carry the same weight as a standard axle. This tractor must also have some sort of double gudgeon set-up, which would allow each section to tilt independently from the other.
A normal modern 4WD only has one u-joint passing power from the front half to the rear half. A normal 4WD can also be fitted with duals or even triples, which result in MUCH less ground compaction and allow for more power to be transmitted to the ground. I am not sure of the positive selling points for the Fendt machine--I'll bet I could set up a normal Deere 4WD that would do more work for less money.

If I understand correctly, this thing is aimed at European type farms.
I understand in Europe Four wheel drive tractors presumably with duals are very difficult to road between fields on their narrow roads.
So the idea is one would have big power and traction in a narrower
machine. Big money for sure as well.

I don't think this tractor is that new. Some where on youtube a different video clips shows a model that looks about 10 years old pulling a disk. I do believe ScottAR is correct on it being for narrow roads. Some good ideas have come from the European side of the world with farm equip.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but it's the 1st time I've seen this tractor.
Wonder if that adjustable suspension has to do with not getting high centered on the middle axle. Maintaining traction on all six wheels going over terraces for example? It must to be able to sense weight per wheel. Hmm, with that ability it should be able to adjust vertically on hillsides. That'd be cool...

yeah fendt has been around a while. founded in 1937 made in Germany and recently purchased by AGCO in 97. Their big claim to fame is the tm vario gear boxes.

the same reason for having a Quadtrac

deere9670, that tractor in your pic... does it make all the hyd whining noises like the older ones do? i ran a 9400t and a couple 8400t's and they all gave me huge headaches from all the noise. they have all the hydraulics right under the cab for the steering. i didn't like them at all, except goin down the road... it was nice that people would actually get out of the way, lol.

i think the fendt looks ugly. maybe it is for the narrow european roads but you would think would be simpler. maybe tracks would wear to much on the roads.

I realize this is about the Fendt that isn't sold here in the states, but here's a couple of tractors that are.
Has anyone seen one?

That is different. I can think of a few changes that would make it more user friendly.
But that is nice.
Whenever my mind wanders to big tractors i always end up here.
YouTube - Big Bud 747. World's biggest tractor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjDshU8pDxI)
The tractor can work more than one acre per minute.
