Here is some pics of a local comunity's Vammas 281, 6x4, 2007 modell.(now Veekmas)

Parked inside because thay have had problems with it.
The battery pole melted, and they got some follow on problems with the electronics.

Got out of power on the camera, so i don't have any bether pics.

Heard about a Veekmas grader yesterday that got problems.
The driver had been grading on a washboard, full power, went well.
Untill he parked and found out it got camel shape....

Bent the frame because of the repeating stress to it.
He had been going to fast when grading, so the power of the engine bent the frame upwards.
Is sent back to the factory for repair....

Here is a pic of the engine compartement.:D
Cummins engine.
Notice the sloping radiator. Hood slopes from left to top radiator, then down along it to the back.
Gearbox and hydraulics under the cabin.

Oh Yes.

They got the grader, a number of trucks, tractors and one wheelloader just to keep snow off the streets in their smal town.:D

MKTEF, how different are the joystick controls set up on your Volvo G976, the Veekmas RG281 and the CAT M-series?

Hei Klutz.

Here is the difference:
Cat got a twisting turn on the joysticks; both Vammas, Volvo and Swab dosen't recomend that. Because of the strain on your wrist.
So we dosen't got that movement at all.;)

Then we got more of double functions in the sticks.
Like a movement from left/right is blade sidemovement, push a button and move stick; u got swing on the front blade.:)

My Volvo got the right stick for main lift right side/blade sideways.
Push button for front blade; and i got lift and swing.(hold the button)
Push button for gravelspreader; Lift and swing on that one.

Cat got a separate handle(s) for the extra equipment, like the front blade/ripper/gravel spreader.

As u understand we got more buttons, but they are rather self explained.
And grouped, driving/stearing is left stick, attachments is right.

The Volvo got two propfunctions on the sticks also, so i got more adjustable functions than both cat and Vammas.(Volvo use them for stearing, articulation, blade angle and side shift of the board)

Of course pros and cons on all theese systems.:)
I think the Volvo solution is good cause u don't need to move your hand to operate any other devices.
U need that both on the Vammas and the Cat.
Vammas got a bunch of switches on the closer side/to the right of the right joystick.
The two long ones on Vammas is also propfunctions.
The positive thing though with both Vammas and Volvo is that u can programme anything to do anything.
Its a bunch of input signals, and a prosessor and output to the centrals.

The only thing i miss on my joysticks, is the two main buttons on the constantpressuresystem.(pressure and lift = on and off)
Working on getting them connected to the system.(I still have some buttons unused!):(

Volvo has desided that its not allowed, but u know its a open system.
Same as u got on a swab rototilt stearing.
And on the Volvo you got 5 drivers, 4 is unused and can be used for individual programming, for instance a driver that wants higher speed on some functions. Just copy the bank, and adjust the functions u want to change.

I've only tested the Cat system in a simulator and in a 14M on Bauma.
So i only know it from there.
Looking for a chance to try the Cat live though.

Planned for vinterdager on Beitostølen wedensday, but junior got an apointment at the doctor in the post yesterday.:o

Welcome to the forum Omar.;)

I have posted pics of the Weekmas/Vammas FG/RG281 in two posts here:
http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=5429
And this one.

What modell are you receiving?
FG2327S?
Pics here:
http://www.veekmas.com/main.site?action=siteupdate/view&id=6

The customer of the grader in this post is not happy with everything.(2007 modell) A lot of small problems. Changing solutions that where good on the old modells isn't always smart.
A salesmann always talks about Veekmas/Vammas prototypes, because they produce so few that nobody is identical...
Another customer managed to bend the frame on a Veekmas.(FG2327S)
(Washboard, and to much speed and throttle)

Vammas has earlier had a good reputation.
I tested a RG286 and think they are to flexible and have a bad awd design.
Good speeders though...60km/h.
Road maintenance machines, not graders...:IMO
And that can be the right product for some users...

And Omar, please bring some photos of your Volvo and Iceland.:D:angel
