sorry for ll the questions guys, did a search on here and googled it with little success
anyone used one of these trackloaders,i think an early 80's machine
i beleive they are hydrostatically driven and about 28 ton....other than that i am unsure
this one leaks hydraulic oil at rest(doesn't leak any more when running so must be on low pressure side)...about 4 gallons a month, the owner has had a good look underneath(apparently it was run without a bottom plate and something may have got damaged) and can't see anything obvious
now this is the time i ask you to get out that crystal ball and start gazing into it....seriously anyone have a clue about what may be the cause of the leak, maybe you've had a similar problem/experience?
what are the advantages of the hydrostats over clutched drives, what can you check on them for wear, are they reliable in older machines with bigger hours
lastly what is the parts availability likely to be
thanks fellas
