error code for this volvo l120d ( error monitoring transmission oil pressure) all sensors and volvo tech came down did a pressure test said trans is fine must be a wire broke and left............ my boss wants me to fix it ....i need the wiring schematics .....does anyone know where i can get these or help finding problem
Yeah common fault. (More so the temp sensor) Pressure switch is faulty. The tranny could be loosing pressure through the second gear Clutch pack. Again another common fault with high hour machines that work in confined spaces.
volvo tech came down did a pressure test said trans is fine must be a wire broke and left.... Typical VOLVO Fitter! Did he do the full load test and high speed shift test?
Anyhow, The Sensor is located next to the Directional shaft bearing cover. Or it could be located on top (Between the two Pumpdrives) depends on what tranny the machine has fitted!
I have a Diagram somewhere. See if I can scan it and post it for you.

Thanks for that info on the switch
Has anyone got some advice?
I have changed the radiator core on a L120D, but the loader is now shutting down when it gets too hot.
The supplier tells me that the core is right but its for an L120, not a D, can anyone direct me to the specific difference between the radiator cores? I dont have the original core, it went to scrap.

hi, the volvo fitter that left saying that the wiring was at fault was probably correct but he was wrong to leave it like that but the boss probably told him that you would fix the fault, this is not the action of a typical volvo trained fitter so quite possibly it`s not his fault and the pressure sensor is to be found on the rear side of the control chect on the right hand side of the shovel not on the gear shafts or between the hyd pump drives

hi the main difference between the two shovels is the engine are not the same as the L120 was fitted with a TD70
and the L120D with a TD73 make sure that the stat is good and that the impellar is ok on the water pump.the rad should be ok but check to see if the fan is running at the correct speeds as it`s hyd drive.
