Tuesday, November 2 is election day in case anyone has been in a different galaxy the past 6 months. I just want to remind evryone it is your duty to vote for your representatives, regardless of your position on the election. If we are to believe the popular polls, this will be a tight race and voter turnout will determine the results.
In the forming of our Country, over 10,000 brave Americans gave their lives during the Revolutionary War to win our independance and provide us our right to vote. Throughout history, thousands upon thousands more have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve this right. What is unfortunate is that voter turnout among immigrants to our Country is a far higher rate than naturally born citizens, too many of us takes our rights for granted.
Through the years, the right to vote has evolved to include every US citizen, minorities and women included where they had been prohibited previously. "One man, one vote" has become the law of the land.
PLEASE be sure to get to the polls on Tuesday and do your duty, it is an opportunity many foreigners wish they had!
