Perth is a lovely city. I was there a "few" years ago (1988) and stayed on the south west coast in a tiny place called Northcliffe. I was in Perth for a week or so and loved it. One of the cleanest and nicest cities in OZ.

It was really hard to come back to the USA rat race after 8 months in OZ.

I see that the stick has a SWL 1000 kg decal. So is that mandatory if you have a hook on the bucket or something?

If he has a hook for over 1000kg then he is into the full blown lifting device regs and be inspected as a crane...and his hook has to be load tested/certified periodically etc etc. If he is 1000kg and less...then all he has to do is excercise due care and be a "competent" person etc etc. Thats my interpretation of the rules. However, he could have just put that for operator's benefit...having consulted his load chart maybe thats what he feels his operators wont get into trouble with??....I know that Daewoo will lift over 2000kgs close in over the blade.
