This is strange, I signed up here a few months ago and I made an introductory post. Then I came back and posted a thread only a few days ago, after I posted the thread it said under my name "Posts: 1" when it should have said that I had 3 posts. Now today I posted another post (the last one I made before this one) and I noticed it still says "Posts: 1", when it should say I have 3 posts. Is this a bug or something?

It's not a bug, it depends on what section you post in whether it's counted or not.

"TGIF" & "equipment for sale" are a couple where they don't count. There may be more too.

I had noticed the same thing with my counter, and checked on it with one of the mucky-mucks.

Ah, thank you Jeff, that solves the question!

I do have one more thing though, for some reason I cannot post in just about every HE-related forum. It says I do not have permission, yet it allows me to post in TGIF and Support without a problem. Do I have to make a certain amount of posts before I can post in the HE-related forums?

Thanks in advance,

We have a top secret program in place that allows us to see who we're dealing with before they can start a new thread. This is due to the number of automated spamming programs we get hit with on a daily basis. I'll upgrade your account so you don't have any further problems.

If I sign off, as if I were a non-member, I can view it.:beatsme

Could it be a bug of this new program you mentioned?

Yikes, I know exactly what you're talking about. I have a few forums powered by MyBB and the old IPB 1.3 and everyday they're hit with them. It's weird how like a year and a half ago all of these automated spambots on forums were unheard of, now it's impossible to find a forum without them. I hope they go away someday. Thanks for the upgrade!

Thanks Countryboy for telling me the number of posts needed, that solves the riddle!
