How do you take a link like this (below...one of countryboy's) and have it shown as "link" or "here" I've tryed a few times with no success. Probably some simple way?

Yeah, they work ok, but as you notice some of the members attach the links as "here" or "link" and can combine this right into there sentence.
Example..."I found this really cool equipment site here that shows the new dozers"
Click on the "here" and it opens up the link

url=http://www.tpaktopc.net/allis_chalmers.htm]here[/url
Add [ ] to the ends of the above line and that is how it must look to do what you want. I have a Firefox extension that does it for me, but it works the same both ways.

When you click on the icon and paste your URL into the box, and then click "OK", you'll see:
http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/index.php?[URL]
Above, is the URL of this site. (I took the slash out of the closing url tag, to disable it as a link, so you can see what I mean.)
The part that's in blue, (the second half of what you see), is the same as the the part before it (the first half of what you see). If you take that blue part, while it's still highlighted in blue, and cut it out again, whatever you type back into that space will be the text that appears in your post.
[URL="http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/index.php?"]the text that appears in your post [URL]
Like so:
[URL="http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/index.php?"]the text that appears in your post. (http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/index.php?)

Computer stuff? Sure, we can teach you some of that. You might want to look up Countryboy's Mom for spelling and grammar though... ;)
