Here are some pictures that i have taken.
First one is the before pic, looks innocent enough.
http://webpages.charter.net/diers/before.jpg
But I only dug about a foot and hit this stuff.
http://webpages.charter.net/diers/rock1.jpg
The rock above the frost line just crumbled out. Rock below the frost line had to be worked on. Some rather large rocks came loose. Good thing I have the thumb.

Here are some of the rocks.

The next two pictures I am pulling out lilac roots

I will be taking more pics as I get more jobs.

Ray-
How are you making out with the machine? Do any more jobs with it lately? How do you like it so far?

I did one project that was just widening out a crushed granite driveway and breaking up a very old concrete slab.
It's like the concrete guy for the basement said -- you have a nice machine and do good work, great for tight places. The only problem you will have is getting your name and capabilities known to others.
I do have a bid out on about 2000 feet of trench about one foot deep for a two inch plastic conduit. It is a new subdivision road and they need street lights.
Been busy hauling 5 yard loads of crushed granite, screened black dirt and 1 1/2 landscape rock.
There has also been a lot of rain around here for the past month.

If you where closer to me I could of had you demo a set of stairs for me . I hear you with this rain just as bad here.

Well last Thursday I did another basement excavating job. But guess what, forgot to take the camera.
The contractor's big excavator guy was pulled to a different more important job. He happened to see my ad in the local weekly shopper and gave me a call. Talked to him for a while and sounds like he will be willing to hire me for more of his jobs.
Also picked up a excavating job that will keep me busy for about a week. This guy's house is on the south side of a major hill we call Rib Mountain. The hill is running into his house. He wants to dig out some soil around the backside of the house to get water to run around the house not through it. He is also talking about creating a small water fall type stream between the house and out buildings. This time I will remember to take the camera.

He are some pictures of my latest digging job.
http://webpages.charter.net/diers/81s.JPG
The hill was starting to envade the house. It had burried the first row of siding.
http://webpages.charter.net/diers/82s.JPG
I was asked to dig out the hill so a stone wall could be built. Lots of stone on site so the wall should be no problem.
http://webpages.charter.net/diers/83s.JPG
He is going to create a lip at the top of the wall that is higher than the hill so water can be channeled off to the side and arround the house.
http://webpages.charter.net/diers/84s.JPG
Excavator was able to handle the dig very nicely. Took about fourteen hours to dig. Two feet of material was removed and place up hill. There was some rather large rock and tree stumps to handle also.
