Hey guys!

Dad and I went and watched some iron work today!!!!!! It was a great time! The company is Fox Contractors Corp. from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. They are doing the stripping for Lafarge Cement Plant / Hanson Stone. They are stripping 600,000 CY, and doing around 500,000 CY a month. There are 9 40 ton Cat trucks on the projects. There are 6 Cat 627's. There are 2 brand new 345C L's one which is ME format. There are 3 D8's and a 140H. They are running 2 10 hour shifts on the project. Here is one thing I didn't understand: Some pans push/pulled, some loaded themselves, some were push loaded by a D8. From what I know about production you would want to keep your ways pretty much the same throughout the project, unless I am missing something. Anyone know the reasoning there?? Please comment and ask questions! I got plenty of pics to post, so please..anyone??

I cant answer your question but this sounds like an incredible site to see...our area here is growing very rapidly and I have been watching a contractor clear the land for a new SuperWalmart...impressive the amount of work a company can get done with the right equipment and good people running it!

There could be lots of reasons run a few scrapers one way and a few more an others. Some of the guys could be green, some of them might be doing clean up work and not need to pushed, mechanically there could be something wrong, and the list goes on.
