Hi guys I've been lurking for a little while and decided to join you folks.I own and operate a small biz in the upstate of SC. We do heavy equipment repair, welding, metal fabrication, light trucking and anything else it takes to pay the bills & buy food.We work on lot of Fiat allis equipment dozers, pans, loaders etc. This is because most of my clients own this type of machinery of coarse we do dump trucks & big rigs as well as other brands of equipment.I'm not an equipment operator but the guy that operates on the equipment. I realy like this site and enjoy reading your post.I guess that's about it for now.

Welcome to Heavy Equipment Forums!!:drinkup

I'm sure everyone will be happy you're here, it's great to have another source of information, especially one with a technician's background!

Thanks for the welcome Steve. But about the technician part that maybe a little over the top. I'm just a plain old wrench slinger with lots of time behind the buisness end of the tools.

Dozerboy, the stuff I've worked on has got to be tuff old equipment. Some of these operators are really rough and demanding. The one F.A. that has given the most troubles that I remember is the old 7GB loaders weak link is final drives. The bearings were to light and thus they would give out and this would result in bull gear failure or broken axles etc.
