Digger, Disregard the PM I sent you. This question might be better posted for everyone to see.:yup
While trying to reply to the Ford L-9000 Salt Truck thread I got a "You do not have permission to access this page" notification. I tried to post on other threads and everything worked fine. It appears to be just this one thread. Any suggestions?

Beats the heck outta me...
I can click the reply button and get a "reply to thread" page, but as a mod I can never be sure that I'm not being allowed to do things other members are not. (Like, I can edit posts from anyone, at any time--members can't even edit their own posts after a while.)
I'm not aware of any setting that would prohibit replies to "for sale" items, but it's possible.
Anybody else having the same problem with that thread, or any other?

Look what happens when I go away....:Banghead
Nobody but a mod or thread originator can post to a for sale thread....at least thats the way it is on most Vbulletin forums...so as to stop slander and all that stuff that can go on...not that that would happen on HEF....but you might end up getting Hi-jacked???:naughty
You should pm the seller direct.

See I thought he was buying it and I was going to say it was a nice looking truck. Maybe I should read better. Hooked On Phonics worked for me.:bouncegri

Squizzy is correct, the "For Sale" forum is set up that way for the reasons he's mentioned, and I don't feel it's good business to negotiate for all the world to see.

I agree Steve. A deal is between the buyer and seller. I wasn't paying attention to where the thread was posted and thought he had bought it. Thanks for the clarification.
You see Squizzy, you just taught Digger something.:bouncegri

Well, the posting guidelines don't say you can't reply, do they? (If they did, you'd never have had to ask the question.) That was the first thing I checked before I posted my reply, and like I said, I could post there, because, well, just because I'm special. :yup
(Ya know, I was gonna complain about the posting guidelines being incomplete, but I guess I can edit that post too, can't I? That's why Steve keeps me around. That, and I get to sweep up after everyone has gone home for the night...) :thumbsup
(Which I just did--go look. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?p=327#post327)

The trouble is that, just about the time everyone in this hemisphere goes home, Squizzy's just getting up. And he comes in here in his damn muddy boots, and I can never get the place clean. :Banghead
Thanks for offering though...

If you want you can barrow one of my street sweepers. I am not using this one for a while.

Well since we have just found out that Squizzy has his own broom (see above picture), he can sweep after himself.:yup
