Why is there a 300 sec wait between posts that can be made I've only been noticing it for the past 2 weeks or so? I'm on here a few times a week and keep up with most of the post, lately I spend more time waiting to post than posting.

It may have to do with some of the anti-spam measures Steve has tried to institute. There was some concern about spammers using the PM system to spam members, and one way of combating that is to require a certain amount of time between PMs sent--the longer it takes, the less worthwhile it is for a spammer. I never type fast enough to have noticed a restriction on the time between posts though. And I don't lnow if the post timer and the PM timer are tied together somehow, or are separate.

Testing to see if I get a time restraint on posting...
On edit: Apparently I didn't--it was only about a minute between those two posts. I don't know if being a moderator makes a difference though...

It does the same thing for me. It says; This forum requires that you wait 300 seconds between posts.

Digger can attest to the number of spammers we've seen try to get in here recently, I set the posting time to discourage them if they happen to get past Digger and I. If it's a nuiscense, I'll open it up a bit.

I would rather put up with the 300 sec. delay then the spamers. Keep up the good work.
