Welcome to Heavy Equipment Forums!!:drinkup

The first thing to do would be determine that your filters are clean and oil coolers clear. Have you done this?

first do like steve said then if you can get a themostate type of gun to see how hot it is coming out of the radiator. you could have a bad sensor or gauge .This just happened to my gehl would get real hot but ran fine found out it was the sensore.

Not much detail to go on... but as the tranny gives problem I would presume that the transmission and TC are overheating due to TC leakage, low tranny pressure or a clutch failure....?
Before doing anything I would make sure you are operating in the right gear, that you have the right oil in the transmission and that the level is correct (some trannies are checked running and others with engine off) and check the filter for debris such as seals or clutch material.
If the above are OK check the transmission and clutch presssures in neutral and in each speed and direction. Try them at operating temperature at idle and at higher eng speeds.

It might help to give a little more specific description of "playing up".

Is it slipping, or not shifting up or down as expected, etc. ? Is the temperature steady for those two hours, and then it spikes, or does it build up steadily until it's overheated?

The more information you can provide, the better the guesses the forum's mechanical wiz kids will be able to make.

It is most likely your convertor. Does the water temp go up too ??

Hi, Mahmoodrafiq.
In the 'B' series D5's and I think also in the 'C' series, the steering system is integral with the transmission but there is a separate pump for the steering system hydraulics. If this pump is a tad worn and starts by-passing, that will send your transmission temp soaring with possibly a rise in engine temp too. I'd suggest getting ALL the pressures and flow rates checked to see if that gives a clue.

Hope this helps.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

is it trans oil temp ? or engine oil ? guessing its trans oil temp sounds like a bad torque converter we had that on a D9 cat and it was about 15 below zero out when the problem started... we was ripping 3ft of frost on ground to get dirt for cover on a landfill......

A couple of times i have seen the belly pans so packed with mud that trans overheated. should be obvious at quick glance
