Well every morning this week I have been going down to the port to export some contaminated soil. Only 10-12 trucks a day, one round each had to go to AZ for a dump site. The soil is contaminated with fuel, because back in the day if ship had extra fuel they would just dump it in the harbor. And it made the soil so heavy that 8 half buckets with that dog of a 950 and the trucks where just about right 80K. There is a large Hilton going up on the site the larges building built in the US in a several years. Out in the habor they are dredging out the habor so the rich guys can just drive there yachts right up to the hotel.
I have pic of
My POS loader
The diesel pile drivers
The dredge that is digging out the harbor loading a barge

More of the dredge
The crane unloading the barge
The nice loader loading the slop out of the harbor into trucks
And last a few of the old anchors they found.

After ~1,700 concrete piers, ~200 tons worth of rock columns, 10' of backfilling and 2 months of digging footing and the foundation is almost done. It would/should have only taken me 1 month but the GCs layout guy kept laying me out into a corner. It is amazing I (my hoe) never fell into a foot I had just dug when digging the next one see pic below.
First pic you can see the start of the tower and in the background the parking garage in the 3rd pic above. It’s hard to see but all of those rusty rebar cages have a footing I dug and several tie beams at the bottom.
Next the labyrinth of footings and tie beams 15'x15'x6'
Back side of the tower every where you see an orange cone or rebar cap is a footing/s and tie beam/s all connected.
Last my hoe over one footing and 2 tie beams surrounded by footings and no cave-ins. Yes both front and rear tires are bald it really helps my times at the 1/4 mile.

I bet you will remember that job for a long time to come. Looks like you had a job enough to find a stable place to set up your machine to dig another hole :spaz
Good work!
Great job, Dozerboy. Looks like you really get into the work you do, and that is great. Must be satisfying to see something like this project going up and knowing what an important part you played in the construction. Nice work, man.

Thanks all
No you could pay me enough to run my own biz after growing up helping my dad run his, and yes this is the same Hilton job as above. I'm sure I'll remember this one, but the sooner I forget about it the better. I do love playing in the dirt and a good challenge.
