I was doing a bit of searching on Piacentini & Sons' website and they claim to have six 651 elevating scrapers in their fleet, but couldn't find any pics. :bash Just wondering if anyone had any pics or info on them.

651. The biggest Cat self-loader I have seen is a 633. I understand they made a twin engine version of it called a 639, but I never saw one they're pretty rare.

It says their elevating 651s are custom built by themselves. I didn't think Cat made them.

The earlier machines have 333FT Wabco bowls behind them with the rear engines removed. The later ones were completely custom built.I think there is 2 with the Wabco bowls.I have a few contacts within Piacentini so I will try for some pics.

I've only seen pics of 651 open bowls, never seen an elevating 651.

Sounds like a custom job to me.
The biggest elevators that Cat ever offered on a production basis were the 639D's

WOW!!!!
Thats sweet looking!!!! We have 2 633D's that are nice but if you are in ground that is soft or pumps at all, they wont get out of their own way. The pusher engine must fix that problem. Are the bowls the same as a 633 as in capacity and design? Id love to be able to take one for a rip.

The bowls are the same design as the 633 but I think they hold a bit more. Not sure though as we do not have any 633`s to compare it to.

The bowls hold the same, not counting the added spill guard to keep material off of the engine in the rear. It's a weight issue why they would not hold more, not because of the power. Just like a 631/637, they both hold the same.
