Just my truck painted two tone Desert Sand and Gloss Black on the hood and roof. Plan on painting my pickup to match. And also will be ordering the new Volvo roll off to match. Also had it relettered let me know what you think, if you would make any changes on the stlye or color or layout of the lettering.

Maybe just a little Armor-all on the tires. That look great.

Looks good just make sure you keep the wax on it so the black doesn't chalk up but otherwise the new paint scheme looks good. The Freightliner could use a chrome bumper that would give it a little extra shine to it.

Yes,it does look good!!The lettering looks professional also!!:thumbsup

One thing I like, but may not be for everyone,is a visor above the windshield.I think that dresses them up nicely, and also provides alittle shade from the sun.:yup

I like it looks good, but maybe a different color/s to catch more people’s eyes.

Thats what is missing the chrome visor most FL Series freightliners here have them.

Myself I'am a person that likes the color blue I have had 3 trucks that were blue the 3rd one I have currently is blue I also had a red truck not really a fan of red and I had a white truck which is a little too plain.

I do agree with Dozer you get a color that people will sort of remember or a color scheme that people remember so if they need some work done they will remember you.

Nac,it sounds like you've narrowed your search down too the Volvo for your roll-off.Have you made your final decision on how you were going to have it spec'd it out?Super singles or duels?Triple drives,or tandems w/drop axle?Etc.

Yes waiting on the engineering from Volvo, will be spec out a follows:
22,800 front axle/ 69,000 rear axle (3 drive Axles) full locking rears on all 3 rear axles
Volvo 465HP/ 8LL Transmission/ Engine brake & Exaust brake
13x 22.5 Alum Wheels all Around
465/55/22.5 Michelins all Around
Central Inflation all around
Hendrickson Primax Suspension
So the truck will have 91,800 axle Capacity, 102,400 tire and wheel capacity
80,000 GVW

That certainly sounds heavy enough!!

I'm a BIG fan of the Michelin tires. If they wear like the ones I've had, you'll be happy.Michelin makes the best steers IMO.I've yet to find another brand that wears as evenly(XZA 1's & 2's).They have a 3 out now but I haven't been able to try them yet.

Bridgestone make my favorite drives(726's),but the Michelins are a close second for me.

The central inflation you mentioned,is that for the tires?I've run some trailers with them, and was wondering how they'de affect the wheel seal life, with having the axle housings pressurized.

I'm suprised the GVW is less than the sum of the axles.I know on pick-up's they aren't,but on the big stuff I thought they always were.I wonder what the limiting factor is then,in your case?

I think you may find the 465 engine a little underpowered if I was going for lower power look at getting a 18spd behind it. You may never use all the gears but you shift it like a regular 8spd but you have the benefits of splitting bottom and top ranges.

Like the tridrive logging trucks they run C-15s and ISX you never have enough displacement and power especially when your running with 3 axles all locked up and slogging through some mud with 40 ton of logs on the trailer.

The central inflation system isn't worth it unless your running in really soft conditions where your airing down the tires for really soft conditions.

What you should have on the truck is scales they are worth gold especially if you are in a area where the DOT is bad for nailing for overweight. It is also good to keep track of how much weight your hauling away from a site. You can also see if the landfill your dealing with is cheating you on the weight.

As for tire life with a tridrive will really depend on how much you keep the tires rotated. Tridrives are very hard on tires don't be surprised if you only get at most 6 months out of a set of drives. If you forget to unlock a locker or lockers a set of tires may last a mile :laugh

You will probably want to get a set of bandag recaps for the drive wheels the tires you are looking at 465/65R22.5 they run around 700 each.

I doubt you will ever max out the front axle with a rolloff truck you will probably have problems with not getting enough weight on the front axle.

Good luck with the truck it will take some getting used to running a tridrive they are not sharp steering trucks you put all 3 locks in they only steer one direction aka straight.
