Here's a poor boy means of breaking up a heavily reinforced concrete foundation. A 5 ton headache ball.

It was 300' ??? or less. The young guy just was starting out in business, didn't have much for equipment. No hammers, shears, or breaker attachments . He made it work, got the job done.

He did put a old truck tire in the hook up affair as a shock absorber later. :)

Dont knock it. Even the big guys do things like that. At MCM Management, a top 20 demo contractor in dollar figures, We did things the same way. We had at least on 7,000lb ball running around site, and we had at least two 10,000lb iron ingots. I had one of those ingots full tim in my non ferrous prep yard. I could set it on objects I was cleaning with a grapple. It was also helpful in dropping and breaking a few things I got in the yard.

Demo guys are the king of using what they have, or using what they find. I had a T made out of some 1 inch thick robot bases. I could grab it between the tines of my grapple and I could break plastic and rubber off of the things I was prepping. The guy I am currently working for uses an old InsLEY counterweight for a wrecking ball. Any time we need to break concrete we use LEY to drop ball the concrete.
