For the benefit of all our members; Requests for new forums are always discussed by the Administration. "Recycling" is obviously a growth industry (despite the climes) and a forum will be considered.

Post away here if you are involved in the industry or would like to discuss recyling issues. The more support it gets the weight the idea will be given.

I think that this is a great idea.
I'm not sure what the precise definition of recycling Tyler has in mind, but I would like to see it cover recycling of what may be considered waste materials and also the creative re-use of machinery and associated parts rather than just seeing them scrapped and melted down. I've seen scraper components in this forum re-used as rollers and even graders. Farmers can be very creative at re-using machinery in different ways as well.

This thread could be a lot of fun as well as being positive for the planet and possibly with a few good business ideas for our times as well.

Look forward to seeing something happening here, Dave.

Yeah the more members thoughts and opinion will help me out with getting this thread started by the administrators. And that a good thought Dave, i just thought it would be nice to have a thread topic on this for our members to have a place to go and suggest ideas and everything? Would truely work out for any recycling period, from scrap metal to wood and tires..... I mean anything recyclable its just a thought though  lol

If this happens, it will be a forum dedicated to heavy equipment used in recycling operations and possibly the operation itself.

Most everything has a place already as far as equipment which is the stated purpose of the site (isn't most recycling equipment regular stuff modded for the job? like everything else?). A recycling thread or forum area for recyclings sake would be out of place I think. But if i've got your purpose and idea bakwards or otherwise wrong set me straight.

I agree Steve.

But I must add that my school is in a recycling thing at the moment, and maybe someone there should read this thread, because they've had all the paper waste dumped into two huge sacks, inside a shed. No how are you supposed to get them out, and onto the truck, which has not been organised either?

Nice to see that the Irish are the only ones to do silly things from time to time.

It could be a child forum of the Construction and Demolition Equipment forum. Maybe not so much just recyling as waste management in general. Landfill, C&D processing, scrapyard/metals recycling including the equipment and operations involved. Crushers, screens and trommels could be included in this sub forum also, and i remember several people making a request for that also.

So just a list of equipment that it could cover
Mobile Crusher/Screener Plants
Trommels
Compost Turners
C&D Shredders
Wood-waste Chippers/Shredders
Waste Handling Equipment
Scraping and Scrap-Handling Equipment

Anyway, here is a video of the kind of recycling i am thinking about.

With the way construction has gone here in Ireland, waste recyclers may be the only companies using iron.

Here's some pics from down at the scrap yard.

I never posted them since it really don't fit anywhere.
