Another Question:
We have a single axle GMC (33K GVW) with 3116 @ 250 HP. I am wondering if you can turn the HP up on this motor. I have heard of "turning the screw in" 3-4 turns. I am not familiar with "the screw" I only assume it is on the side of the injector pump somewhere. Is this a bad idea? I am not unhappy with the power in the truck, just wondering about it. ALSO, does anyone have any experience with an exhaust brake on a 3116.
Thanks, Ned

A 3116 is a little small for adding any more than what you have now. Yes, they can be turned up, but I havent done one yet, nor seen a post on how to do it.

I think I remember an old post about the 3116. There's a cover that's about the size of a Holley carb's float bowl(maybe a little bigger), and it's irregular shaped. It's facing the rear of the pump, if I'm remembering right. Under that there's an allen head screw or 2. To increase fuel, and after the cover is off:
Look for the screws that have 3/8 (on most pumps, 7/16 on others) locknuts on them. Carefully loosen the locknuts with a deep socket, then remove ratchet and insert the allen wrench through the socket so you can hold the locknut in one place. Turn both screws EXACTLY the same amount of turns. Usually start by going 1 full turn on both, then run it. Any additional turns afterwards should be no more than half. Most Cats are pretty easy to do, but they make it look intimidating. Make dern sure you have at least a pyro gauge before you do this! You may be able to get it up to 275 hp without having to get another turbo.

I found the correct method for the 3116:
To gain access to the fuel screw on the 3116, you must remove the valve cover. If the seal tag/plate is still present it will need to be removed. You will need to remove the tag by removing the rocker shaft stand bolt. The screw and lock nut are on the rack bar. Turn the screw counter-clockwise to increase rack travel.
Marine injectors are also available for an even better power increase.

Just call me the unofficial King of overfueling.:notworthy :thumbsup

That's my old site. Kinda strange, since I closed that one down in May. I just added the 3116 to the new one a few min. ago. The correct Low Buck fuel rate site is the one in my sig. below The new one has some pictures.
