I have a Series1 580SL that has a option on it i would like to remove. When you operate either swing cylinders it really labors the engine.I have been told it kicks in both pumps to give more power to swing the boom.It seems to drank alot of fuel because the engine really labors.I would like to disable it any ideas?Ever heard of it?

Having been a looker to this forum for some time I have decided to get my feet wet.
I am not sure how the swing circuit is plumbed on your Case. My AC 715C has a swing cushion valve in the swing circuit. It engages in the last quarter of swing travel to cushion the swing of the boom before it hits the travel stops. It sounds like it labors the engine when it engages. Could this be the same in your Case? Once the swing cushion valve stuck in it's bore and caused the swing cushion to engage on all swing movement. I cleaned and polished the valve with no more trouble. Again I am not sure if your Case has a swing cushion circuit in it, but I would guess it does. Might help.

Thanks Dave for the reply,I am a first timer also,i have been looking for a site like this along time.I think my circuit is different it only came on the earlierest SuperL's.One mechanic told me if you bought a new backhoe at that time and you did not like the "Priority Swing" the dealer would disable it for you at no charge. He also told me there was a procedure to disable and he would call CASE and request it but he never did.

Priority swing is just what name implies the swing has priority for hydraulic flow from the pumps. And it does have several benefits, more power to the swing and also smoother operation when using more than one function. That being said you may or may not be able to disable that function it all depends if it is done inside the valve through porting or with a spool or separate relief. Would have to know how it is done and then the biggy would be the cost to change it be worth the trouble if it can be done
