Hello all, things are dead slow here for just about any type of work so I've been broadening my search to include the mines in Wyoming. Information though is rather hard to come by so I wanted to pick everyones brain here. If anyone knows companies, good or bad about the job and that sort of thing the information is appreciated.

Curly- I just ran across your thread of Wyo jobs.
Have you had any luck finding one in Wyo?
I travel Eastern Wyo and Western South Dakota working with many contractors. Contractor buisiness has been slow this winter compared to the last few winters.
Record snow and cold hasn't helped along with the crappy ecomomy. I do think that things will pick up in Wyoming in June and July. Demand for gas and oil will improve also in my opinion. Right now about 500 people are laid off in Wyo. due to the BLM closing millions of acres so that the sage chickens can breed without anybody watching them!
I think they are kind of bashfull! The bird stipulations are due to be over on June 1. and started March 1st.
Someone should tell the greenies and BLM that there would be a lot more sage chickens if we didn't have to have so many hawks, coyotes, and fox. It's not people working that kills them.
Good Luck!
Scott
I know there is a mine in Rock Springs, I don't know who or if there hiring. Price of copper ain't great so I don't know if BHP or Freeport McMoRan is doing any hiring right now. If you have time google "Bingham Canyon Mine" BHP mining or Freeport MCMoRan.

I just found this board and it won't let me post any new threads yet. I'm in Mn and can't find a job. I've been in the IUOE for 15 years. I've been searching all over the place, I don't care at this point if It's nine states away from here or even if it's union. I'm on the verge of losing my house, can anybody point a guy in the right direction?
